Little Snoring Mother's Day Giveaway
Mother's Day is coming around again, so I thought I would have a little giveaway to honour all the Mother's. As I travel through life and get a little older, I get a deeper understanding of all the work women do in our society and how important the role they play in our community.
We all have mothers. Some may have passed and some maybe getting older, hopefully you have some great memories of your Mum.
In their honour, I would like to shop giveaway - I will randomly select 4 winners that will receive either a Wooden Bead Necklace, Peace Dove Necklace, Red Nesting Bird with Ladybird or a Peggy People Kit.
In all the complexity of life and living there are some basic things that never change. One thing that consumes me everyday is feeding my kids. And this is where I am hoping you might be able to help?
Just leave a comment to enter and tell me your favourite family meal. It might be one your Mum cooked, it could be quick and easy meal, a special dinner cooked when you have time. If you are a fan on Facebook, or become one, let me know in the comments I will triple your chances of winning.
In Short:
Leave a comment with your Favourite Family Meal.
Be a fan on Facebook for more chances to win.
Check out the Shop for more lovely things.
I will draw the winners on Sunday May 2nd.

Hi What a great giveaway as boring as it may seem to some my favourite meal is my mums egg and bacon pie. I never make it myself as it just wouldn't be the same as my mums ;)
My family love to eat chicken wraps yummo together.
Belinda
So excited for Mother's Day! My first year as a mom. I truly feel like I can honor my mom knowing now the joy of being one. Our favorite family meal is homemade veggie lasagna (just made some). I just became a fan too. I hope I win!
~Shelby : )
Hah!! Feeding people...the eternal dilemma...mock chow mein saved me on many a day...straight from the Nursing Mothers Association Cookbook..fry the onion...then toss the rest in and let it all simmer together....comfort food
My fav family meal would be the pasties my mum made, we would have them with peas and rice (with soy sauce), Yum! I think of her raising six kids and my admiration knows no bounds. Stir frys and pasta are on high rotation around here.
Ooh! I love that necklace, the colours are superb! Our all time favourite family dinner in this house is chicken and bean enchiladas. We've made them so many times that we're better than a Mexican restaurant! :}
My daughter and I have the same taste - we both go crazy for Spaghetti Bolognaisey! Such an easy meal to make and hide vegies in. It's my go-to (and I may or may not sneak some for myself while I cook!). I hope I win the bead necklace :-)
Great giveaway & great way of creating a menu for the next couple of weeks!
One of my favourites at the moment is baked eggs and a couple of slices of sourdough toast.
So easy to whip up and you can add mushrooms, onion, bacon, sausage or whatever takes your fancy. The little ones like breakfast for dinner too!
:)
Oh, I forgot to say I'm a facebook fan!! Triple me! ;)
My go-to meal is home-made 'praties'... baked potatoes with lots of butter and cheese topped with mushrooms, bacon and onions and a splat of sour cream. We chuck the potatoes in the oven before the baby bedtime ritual begins then fry up the topping in a flash. Substitute pasta or gnocchi for the potatoes (and a couple of other little tweaks) and there's another favourite meal, even quicker! I'm your facebook fan - I love the wooden necklace :-)
what a great giveaway!
I am loving fennel bulb right now so I make this spicy spaghetti with fennel once a week. :)http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2009/12/spicy-spaghetti-with-fennel-herbs-pasta.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+seriouseatsfeaturesvideos+(Serious+Eats)&utm_content=Google+Reader

Lovely giveaway which would be fantastic as I have two young daughters. One of my favourite meals is an apricot chicken casserole my mum taught me and it cooks up a treat every time
Oh im so sorry but I have commented twice! Could you please delete the one that comment that displays my full email address! Thanks!
I just love your store and blog.
One of my favorite meals as a child and one that I make whenever I can now is Sweet and Sour Noodles with Meatballs. I make it with turkey and pineapple juice. Sounds weird, but it's sooooo good.
Thanks!
Danna
I am also a Facebook fan of yours!
Our favorite Family meal is Taco's Chipotle style... sounds silly but we make rice and beans ground turkey, and all the veggie fixin's lettuce, tomatoe, and onions black olives, salsa and sometimes Guacamole... Yummy makes me hungry typing it! :) Just became a facebook fan! Soo cute!

One of our family's favourite meals is porcupines (little meatballs with rice) covered in tomato soup sauce with mashed potato and veges. The best thing about it is that the kids make the meatballs! It involves them and they love to eat it because they made it. It's a real bugdet meal too.
Debbie :)
I became a fan on facebook too.
My favourite family meal to have at the moment is cottage pie. I really like to put lots of grated veggies in with the mince when I am cooking it. It keeps both hubby and I happy and we both really look forward to having it.
This year for Mothers Day, hubby announced that he was cooking the mama's lunch and invited both mums and dads to our house for lunch. I am looking forward to seeing what he comes up with!
How things change... life afer kids means that the favourite meals in our house are the ones that are easily made, and go down drama free! The children(x4) love burritos and surprisingly enough there most favourite meal is "Temakizushi" which is roll your own sushi... they love the combination of seaweed, rice and a choice of toppings!
What a fantastic giveway...you are so generous! My family's all time favourite meal is pea and ham soup. The kids devour it everytime!
Thank you everyone for the delicious suggestions. I can't tell you how grateful I am to have a list of food inspiration! I will collate them at the end and put them in a separate post....
thank you...
now, what's for dinner?
My family is soooo hard to feed, we all like different things. On of the only meals I can prepare that pleases every one is Lamb roast in the slow cooker with potatoes added later in the day and corn on the cob done in the microwave!
So simple, great on winter sports days!
I too am a FB fan :)
I know I can't enter, but our *easy* favourite would be chicken wraps. I cut the chicken in little strips and fry them up quickly with taco seasoning (so yum) and then we wrap them in light wraps with heaps of salad and relish. Mmmm.
We also do 'make your own pizzas' a lot too with mini pita bread.
I also like to make up a batch of hamburgers from scratch and then we eat them in rolls with salad on crazy work days when I don't have much time to cook a long meal.
Another fav is a big batch of spaghetti bol cooked up and then the following night I turn it into lasagne.
Sorry that's a mammoth post :-)
Hi, Just found you through the tassie group on facebook. Your products are gorgeous. I am now a fan on facebook so I keep up with all your updates. I think I need one of those rainbow necklaces.
Favourite home cooked meal would be my Mum's 'Toad in the hole' which is sausages baked in yorkshire pudding. Served with mashed potatoes, vegetables and gravy! Yum!! I'm a fan on facebook.
Hi, what a great giveaway !!! My favourite meal is my homemade Tuna Mournay. YUM !! I also do enjoy my mum's homemade vegie soup too !!
Cheers Sandie
Our favourite meal is fridge soup. You make it with everything left inthe scary veggie drawer. Always different. Always tasty. Btw am a big fb fan. Cheers cintia
Our family favourite is my Mum's Sunday lamb roast. Always yum and the kids love it. Not only do we get family time together but I don't have to cook it! Winners all around. Other than that, chicken is always on the menu. Wraps being the most popular.
I love the simple things...spaghetti and my homemade sweet dinenr rolls...its just so comforting to us.We always eat dinner together,so every dinner is special. :) My daughters love the gumball necklaces...so cute!
Being a relative of the fabulous Ms Ed I seem to remember that our favourite meal growing up was roast chicken.
With the advent of celebrity chefs the humble roast chicken has been enhanced to a now quite sublime taste sensation - stuff a lemon up the whahoosie and smother with butter and herbs (beats our 70's version with gravox and Coles stuffing ... but only just). Saint Jamie does it best http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/chicken-recipes/roast-chicken-with-lemon-and-rosemary-ro
What a lovely way to celebrate Mother's Day! My favorite family meal is curry chicken with lentils and brown rice (I will be making this tonight!). A close second is a good ol' pot roast.
I have two favorites. Tacos and homemade pizza. I love that everyone can add the toppings they like so everyone is happy!
My fav is my mom home made flour tortillas ,buritos they varies filling as from chicken to mussels they were yuuummm!!!!
Espy
I just found your blog...and love your cutsey things! My favorite meal these days is roast with potatoes and carrots...YUM!

Hi Edwina! Thanks for the fab giveaway!
The only thing everyone eats in this house chicken wraps! Sad I know. Had to please 6 people all at once. My new fave in zucchini soup
http://zippyzippyworld.blogspot.com/2010/01/zucchini-soup.html
A family fav of ours is rice and veggie rolls. Cooked rice, chopped veg, eggs, cheese and any spices you like wrap in puff pastry and cook. Great as reheats too.
You can't beat spag bol at our house (or bol served over gnocchi is even better for the kids). The other great family dinner is homemade pizza because it keeps the preschoolers occupied and even if they don't eat any dinner you know they're full of raw veggies that they devoured whilst they were helping!!
I am loving the red bird necklace! Thank you for such a generous giveaway! I think our favorite meal is our Friday Pizza using this dough:
http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Quick-and-Easy-Pizza-Crust/Detail.aspx
Only, I cook the crust for 10 minutes before adding the toppings and then raise the temp to 450f. The kids can help and everyone eats it up! :)
Such delicious sounding ideas! I turn to my favourite cook books when looking for inspiration "Jamie's Dinners" or Nigella's "How to Eat" have great ideas on food for little ones.
Failing that, my kids love a fried egg on steamed jasmine rice with soy sauce and cucumber and carrot sticks on the side. Always a favourite!
P.S. You'll find George here :: 14 Nierinna Road Margate
We love baked ziti. Really just spaghetti with moz cheese on top and baked .
Oh, my absolute favourite thing to do for dinner is a big family bash!!! My whole family - my mum & dad, 2 sisters and brother and all our kids get together. We have different themes and everyone has to bring a couple of dishes. My favourite themes are 'Breakfast for dinner' (featuring pancakes, waffles, bacon & eggs, fruit platters, etc) and 'Favourite Childhood Foods' (featuring bowls of mashed potato, crumbed cutlets, macaroni and cheese, icecream sundaes for dessert, creaming soda for drinks, etc). I've always been so jealous of the food & wine culture of the diverse cultures in Australia, but this is our true-blue way of celebrating our love of food (and releasing our inner bogan!). (Oh, and I 'like' you on facebook). (Oh, and I also really like that beautiful necklace!!)
i love making creamy chicken cassrole, or burgers on the grill with baked potatoes, but my daughter who is 2 will usually only eat chicken nuggets and mac and cheese. thanks for the chance eaglesforjack@gmail.com
My favourite meal, which I now make for my little family, is tuna casserole. It really is a comfort dish for me.
Great giveaway, good luck to all :)
Another Facebook Fan :)
Lots of yummy ideas! I am feeling like eggs for dinner. One of my boys favourite meals at the moment is roast vegie risotto, I just put a big pan of diced vegies in the oven and let them cook away (cherry tomatoes, sweet potato, asparagus) while that is cooking, I get the risotto rice on with onion, garlic and celery. A bit of parmesan and voila- great with a bit of crust bread :) Or another favourite is a big pot of minestrone soup mmmm on cold days.
